A most unusual ‘public clock’ mechanism is installed in the strong room of a jeweller’s shop in Folkestone. Access for clock winding was very restricted resulting
in the clock being unused for many years. The installation of an AW40 drive has returned the clock to public service.
“I think everyone is delighted with the Davis and Davis Clock, which has been running ever since the installation of your AW40 Clock Drive. It was impossible without it because the Tenant of the building would not allow anyone to wind it. The basic three gear pendulum clock is generally within 2 minutes each month, which is not too bad as I am allowed access each monthly visit to correct it.”
